I'm not sure if anyone caught or responded to my post regarding this game on the previous boards, but in case you didn't, here it is again. This is the latest game to be released in the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games, developed by the newly formed NetherRealm Studios (which is basically the same as Midway Games, except they are now owned by Warner Bros.).
KP and I have been discussing this game back on Facebook for quite some time now, and at first, I only expressed moderate interest in it, given that recent games in the series have been kinda lack luster. However, this game is far different from recent titles in the series in the sense that Mortal Kombat is going back to its roots.
This game features only characters from Mortal Kombat to Mortal Kombat 3, and much like the original three games, it's returning to a 2D fighting plane (although the characters will be fully rendered in 3D, effectively making it a 2.5D fighter). Fatalities are also back, and they're bloodier and gorier than ever. On top of this, Stage Fatalities and Babalities also make a return (although I would've preferred for Friendships to come back instead of Babalities).
From what I've seen and what KP has told me, this game looks very promising. I'd highly recommend it if you're a fan of the series or you're just looking for a new fighter to try out. Any other details you're looking for are provided in the article above. So, will you try it out?
