For those of you who don't know, the folks at NetherRealm Studios have been periodically releasing various DLC since they first released Mortal Kombat (2011). Four costume packs and three characters, to be exact. The first costume pack contains MK1 costumes for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, and Ermac, and MK3 costumes for Kitana, Jade, and Mileena. On top of this, they also included a Klassic Fatality for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile. The second costume pack contains MK3 costumes for Cyrax and Sektor, the third contains MK2 costumes for Noob Saibot and Smoke, and the fourth contains MK2 costumes for Kitana and Jade. The three DLC characters are Skarlet, a red, female ninja with the power to control and manipulate blood, Kenshi, a blind swordsman with telekinetic powers, returning from Deadly Alliance, and Rain, a purple, male ninja with the power to control and manipulate thunderstorms, returning from Trilogy. However, there is one last character and costume pack to be released. I'm not sure what the costumes will be, but rumor has it that one of the costumes will be Sub-Zero's unmasked costume from MK3. But the biggest announcement of this thread comes from the reveal of the final DLC character. Who do you think it is? A character from the MK universe? Guess again. The final DLC character is so out of left field, so unexpected, that even I didn't believe it at first. But it's true, and on August 9th, we will face our worst nightmare. Gentlemen, the final DLC character... Freddy Krueger: www.youtube.com/watch?↓=aaSBkBDcepMSo, what are your thoughts on this? Are you shocked? Disappointed? Ecstatic? Sound off below.

This new Mortal Kombat game has a lot of interesting features. I think the incentive is nice, albeit a little too far outside of the box, as I've said on Facebook.

I'll admit to being skeptical at first, but whoa, Freddy actually looks like a lot of fun to play as.

@bnk: Yeah. They've really gone overboard with this idea, although, as you mentioned, the concept is certainly interesting. If they had modeled him after Robert Englund instead of Jackie Earle Haley (whether that was intentional or not), that would've been a plus as well.
@coty: Yeah, it floored me, too. I never, in a million years, pictured Freddy as a fighter. With the exception of Freddy vs. Jason, Freddy has never fought a day in his life, as he normally kills his victims with little effort in the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Nevertheless, I'm impressed by the moves NetherRealm Studios has given him, and I'm certainly looking forward to downloading him and trying him out myself.

Preferably one similar to Happy Gilmore's. Picture Morgan in lingerie, holding two full mugs of beer, your mother hitting it big on the slot machine, and a midget on a bike.
